What we actually measured

We scanned 54 real Las Vegas businesses.
One in four was invisible.

Pool service, HVAC, roofing, med spas, wedding chapels, party rentals, landscaping. Every number below came from a live scan run on August 25, 2026. No survey, no estimate.

13of 54 served an AI crawler a blank wall or a "stay out" instruction. Those businesses cannot be recommended by any assistant, at any price.
8had a security or CAPTCHA gate that a human never notices and a crawler can never pass. Their own host was hiding them.
7had a robots.txt that named GPTBot, ClaudeBot or Google's AI crawler and told them to leave. Usually added by a plugin nobody remembers installing.
31%scored under 65 out of 100. That is the band where assistants start choosing a competitor instead.
54%had no llms.txt, the plain-language business summary assistants look for first.

Is this the same thing as SEO?

No. SEO decides where you rank on a page of blue links. This decides whether an assistant can read you at all before it writes its answer. You can rank first on Google and still be missing from every AI answer, and that is exactly what we keep finding.
